The You Choose Bronze Award provides an engaging alternative learner focused journey to the ASDAN Bronze Award. It offers disengaged learners a learner-centred route to accreditation.
The easy to use writing frames focus on participation rather than literacy ability.
The programme is successful in a range of educational settings including:
- Schools and academies
- Youth service
- Voluntary groups
- Alternative education providers
- Short stay centres
The challenge based programme addresses what really matters to the learner. It enables co-ordinators to interact with and inspire learners to move on with the next phase of their education.
You Choose Wider Key Skills qualifications are our recommended progression route from the You Choose Bronze Award.
Accreditation
The You Choose Bronze Award is accredited by ASDAN. It targets disengaged and unmotivated learners working at Entry Level.
The Award consists of:
- 15 x 3 hour challenges
- 3 Action plans
- Summary of Achievements
It is achieved through a paper based portfolio, demonstrating at least 60 hours of participation.
The programme can be used to raise motivation and participation at any age and:
- At Key Stage 3 or 4 to target learners who need re-focusing in preparation for GCSEs.
- Can be double accredited with the Award of Personal Effectiveness (AoPE) to ensure learners can gain the equivalent of half a GCSE (12.5 points)
